Players once more explore a capacious junglescape (and later a touristy city) filled with thousands of zombies that fit neatly into a handful of categories (walkers, drowners, thugs, etc.) and - annoyingly - respawn in nearly identical spots if you leave the area for more than a few minutes. It has what seem to me to be nearly identical combat mechanics, character growth systems, and even action scenarios. Īnd the sequel shares more than just a similar story. That’s really all there is to it, plot-wise. That said, I will blame them for crafting a game that fails to evolve - or even alter, really - their original, middling effort in any meaningful way.
